Active Directory: Access Denied to Shares or GPOs

What you’ll notice: Users (even admins) can’t access shared folders, apply GPOs, or log in properly.

Why it happens:

  • Group membership changed
  • GPOs are blocking access

How to fix it:

  • Use Active Directory Users and Computers to check group membership
  • Use gpresult to confirm which GPOs are applying
  • Check folder and share permissions for that user or group
