Active Directory: Time Sync Issues

What you’ll notice: Users can’t log in, or you see Kerberos errors (Event ID 5 or 11).

Why it happens:

  • Your servers or computers are not all showing the same time

How to fix it:

  • Set the PDC (Primary Domain Controller) to sync with a reliable NTP time server
  • Make sure all other DCs and client PCs sync their time from the PDC
  • Use w32tm /query /status to check time status
